Under the spell chapter four

It had started raining heavily in Dunsvale, and no single person was outside except Edwin, who was still running as fast as he could to get away from the church. As Edwin ran towards the entrance of the town, he looked back a few times to see if he was being followed. Soaked from the rain, Edwin came to a stop under a tree by the road.

The rain had slowed down and Edwin was thinking what he was going to do next. Still confused, he knew he couldn’t remember anything from his past, so he struggled to make sense of the whole situation. A few minutes later he saw a car coming from the road ahead. He looked hard and saw that the car had a police plate number on it. The car pulled over beside Edwin, and the passenger’s side window started rolling down as Edwin approached the car.
In the car were two men in Police uniform. All of a sudden, the officer at the passenger’s side of the car pointed at Edwin.
“I have seen you somewhere before but I can’t remember.”
“I’m glad to see you guys. Please can you take me far away from here?” Edwin said.
“Go ahead and hop in,” the driver offered
Edwin opened the back door of the car and got in. As the officer drove on the quiet road, he gazed at Edwin through the rear view mirror.
“You look tensed, what’s the problem?” the officer asked.
“The Church, something is not right about that church in Dunsvale,” Edwin replied. The officers looked at each other for a second and then the officer at the passenger seat spoke.
“We don’t know about the church you are talking about, but we are heading to Dunsvale.”
“No, I don’t want to go back there,” Edwin stressed.
“Don’t worry we are heading to the police station at the town,” the driver assured.
“Oh, so there is a police station in that town?” Edwin asked.
“Yes, there is. By the way I am Officer Bob and this officer Pat,” the officer said, pointing at his partner. Edwin nodded his head and kept watching the road as Officer Bob drove.
“What is your name?” Officer Bob asked.
“Edwin,” Edwin replied with his eyes still on the road. Bob and Pat looked at each other like they know something Edwin didn’t.
“So how did you end up in this town?” Officer Pat asked.
“It’s a long story,” Edwin sluggishly replied.
“That is what we are here for, long stories,” Officer Bob said.
Edwin decided to tell the officers what happened to him in the church, and then suddenly Officer Bob’s cell phone started ringing. He answered.
“Yes this is Bob, go ahead.”

After Officer Bob was done with the call, he gently put his cell phone back in his front pocket. Then immediately he stepped on the brakes.
“Hey mister, step out of the car!” Officer Bob exclaimed as he stepped out of the driver’s seat. The second officer, Pat, also stepped out and opened the back door, waiting for Edwin to come out of the car.
The rain had calmed down and it was now drizzling. The two officers stood outside the back door, telling Edwin to step out. As Edwin got out of the car, he quickly pushed Officer Bob out of the way. When Officer Pat reached forward to grab Edwin, he punched him in the chin and ran off towards the bush at the corner of the road. When Officer Bob regained his balance, he took out his gun and shot twice at Edwin, but missed.
Edwin kept running inside the thick bush, desperately trying to get away from the officers. A few minutes after running inside the bush, Edwin stopped under a tree in the bush and started looking around to see if he was being followed. Breathing heavily from the running, he tried to slow his breathing.

A few moments later, the rain totally stopped. The weather was still gloomy, and the bushes were still wet. Edwin made his way deep inside the thick, lonely jungle. He walked until he found an old cemetery. Edwin passed the cemetery and headed towards the other side of the jungle. He noticed a little mud hut down in the valley of the jungle. He started walking directly to the hut. As Edwin reached the entrance of the hut and peeped inside, he felt a heavy object on his face. Then he fell in front of the hut and fainted.
Edwin fell into a deep sleep after fainting. He suddenly found himself in the middle of a desert with nothing else in sight except the hot sand. Edwin became confused and started yelling for help. As he was yelling, the sun immediately went out like a light bulb, and the whole desert became dark. Edwin then stopped yelling for help and started walking slowly towards the East, saying to himself in a tired voice,
“Ok, what now? What do you want from me?” Edwin exclaimed to the open desert, raising his hands towards the sky.

After a while, Edwin started to hear the cry of a baby coming from the West side of the desert. He made his way towards the cry. As he drew nearer, he saw a
dark, wrapped object on the ground. Then he listened closely and noticed that the cry was coming from the object. Edwin cautiously lifted up the object, which happened to be black clothing that was wrapped together. As he unwrapped the clothing, he immediately saw Isabelle’s face laughing at him. The picture horrified Edwin so he quickly dropped the clothing, and ran towards the East. As he kept running, he heard Isabelle’s voice, saying,
“You can run, but you can’t hide…so why don’t you just give up and come back home.”
“No! Stop! You are driving me crazy!” Edwin yelled out to the voice. He then ignored the voice and started running as fast as he could towards the East side. The voice stopped laughing, and suddenly Edwin felt something pull him from the ground. When he looked down towards his knees, he then saw that he was in quick sand. Edwin struggled to get out of the quick sand. He sank deeper until the sand swallowed his whole body except his head. Edwin couldn’t help himself anymore so he helplessly stayed in the sand with his face sticking up towards the sky. The sand had already swallowed his neck, and it was a matter of time before he would totally sink in the sand. As Edwin was looking up towards the sky he noticed a large rock falling at top speed directly towards his face. He yelled out loud, and all of a sudden there was darkness.
